11.27.09: TREE LIGHTING Celebration
A true Seattle tradition, the Space Needle will kick-off the holiday season by illuminating all 1,200 lights on its rooftop Christmas tree the evening of Friday, November 27. Located 560’ above ground, the city’s most visible tree will remain atop the Landmark through New Year’s Day.
Plus, the Space Needle is proud to introduce a new addition to its holiday lineup. A 35’ tree composed of several dozen illuminated spheres will be placed in the center of the Howard S. Wright Memorial Fountain at the base of the icon. Designed by Blachere Illumination of France, the new tree uses thousands of LED lights to form a visually stunning holiday structure that is sure to awaken Seattle’s holiday spirit.
