Bring your Space Needle ticket to the Burke Museum. Your ticket will grant you General Admission entry.

The Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture is located on the northwest corner of the University of Washington (UW) campus in Seattle. 

Hours:

  • Tuesday – Sunday: 10 AM – 5 PM
    Last admission at 4:30 PM
  • * First Thursday of each month: 10 AM – 8 PM
    Last admission at 7:30 PM
  • Monday: CLOSED
VALIDITY TIME

(72 hrs) Your Space Needle ticket is valid for General Admission entry at the Burke Museum either on the day before, day of, or day after your Space Needle visit.

ABOUT

With working labs you can see into, one-of-a-kind objects all around you, and galleries filled with curiosity and conversation, at the Burke, you see—and feel—a world alive. The Burke Museum is located on the University of Washington campus in Seattle with a focus on dinosaurs, fossils, Northwest Native art, plant and animal collections, and cultural pieces from across the globe.

  • Backpacks & Large Bags
    Please plan ahead and leave backpacks and large bags at home.
  • Food & Drink
    Food and drink are available from Off the Rez Café. Outside food is welcome inside the museum in the Cascade Room or outside on the lovely terraced steps of the Burke Yard. Food and drink—including water bottles—are not permitted in the galleries.
  • Lost & Found
    Lost and Found items held at the admissions desk by Visitor Services staff. Contact burkevis@uw.edu or 206.616.8616 if you need assistance.
  • Photography & Video
    Photography and video without flash is allowed throughout the museum for personal use. Permission is required from burkepr@uw.edu before filming or photography for press/commercial purposes, or using a tripod. Please be considerate of staff and volunteers working when taking photographs; if photography is disruptive visitors may be asked to put away cameras or phones.
  • Sketching & Drawing
    Both regular and colored pencils are welcome in the museum galleries. Please leave your pens and markers at home or check them at the admissions desk on Floor 1.
  • Restrooms
    Restrooms are all-gender throughout the museum. Shared, multi-stall and private, single-stall restrooms are located on every floor. By offering restrooms that are all-gender, the Burke Museum seeks to minimize structural barriers to access and create a space that is welcoming to all.
  • Lactation Room
    Mothers are welcome to nurse wherever they are comfortable within the building. A private lactation room is also available on Floor 2.
